Interrogé sur le fait que le président de la Liga, Javier Tebas, avait déclaré la veille que “la plupart” des clubs anglais “pensent que Manchester City devrait être sanctionné”, l’entraîneur a répondu : “Toutes les équipes de Premier League veulent que nous soyons sanctionnés, c’est sûr”.
“Je suis d’accord avec Tebas pour la première fois, et j’espère que ce sera la dernière. Je suis presque sûr qu’il a raison sur ce point. C’est pourquoi je dis à M. Tebas et aux équipes de Premier League d’attendre le panel indépendant”, a-t-il déclaré.
“Il y a une justice dans la démocratie moderne, alors attendons la décision, ce n’est pas plus compliqué que ça. Mais je ne sais pas si lui ou le reste des équipes de Premier League sont des avocats, alors je leur demande d’attendre”, a poursuivi Guardiola, cité par le journal britannique The Guardian.
